Why do you shine so bright?
Why do you make me so happy?
What is your secret?
Why do you run away when I try to talk to you?
I admire you greatly.
I have been watching you from afar.
I’ve been studying your work every night.
The plants, the animals, the humans.
Why can’t I shine like you?
Why do they run and hide when I come out?
Why do they say I cause bad things?
They say without me you would shine too bright and do more harm than good.
I highly disagree.
I think you make life wonderful.
How can I be a sun?
Why have the gods cursed me?
Why am I so unfortunate?
Love, The Moon
I am not as great as I look.
You do not want to be like me.
For I admire you.
You give diamonds to the oceans and sleep to the tired.
I am slowly dying, and my time is soon.
I am burning, a never ending burning.
How do you stay so cool?
I feel dragged down by having to be happy all the time.
No cloudy days, no tears or rain, no fog or gloom.
It’s so hard.
Will we ever meet face to face for more than an eclipse every couple of years
My poor Moon, I hope you see your beauty soon.
Love, The Sun
