How Gaslighting Works to Keep You in the Toxic Relationship

Gaslighting can do serious damage especially when it goes undetected. Gaslighting is persistent manipulation and brainwashing over a period of time with the use of lies, redundancy, control, and superficial kindness.

In the beginning, the gaslighter or the manipulator creates lies about the other person. These lies are meant to make the other person question themselves at their core. They are meant to create confusion and sadness within the person being manipulated. Over time the person being manipulated begins to believe the lies and begins to doubt themselves and their value.

That in and of itself is abusive however, there’s another dimension added — moments of care and love. Throughout this process, the manipulator adds love and care randomly. These actions of love make the person being manipulated question what is truly happening. These actions give false hope and make the person believe that everything will get better. At this point, the manipulator has the other person right where they want them.

In this video, I explain the process, how it works and what you need to do to safeguard yourself.
